Frequently Asked Questions

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is a traditional Indian medical system that is over 5,000 years old and takes a holistic approach to human health. "Ayus" literally means life, and "Veda" means knowledge. Ayurveda is therefore the knowledge of life.

What is a dosha?

In Ayurveda, the three doshas Vata, Pitta, and Kapha are responsible for controlling all processes and functions in the body, and thus also for all positive and negative changes, depending on whether they are in a balanced or imbalanced state.

How do I find out my dosha type?

In general, no one person has just one dosha type—we always have all three within us. The Salufast app offers a free dosha test to find out which dosha is most pronounced in you. It would be a good idea to take the test four times a year (every three months), for example, to observe how the doshas are present in your life throughout the seasons and whether there are any fundamental changes.

Can I drink Vata tea despite having a pronounced Kapha or Pitta dosha?

Yes, of course you can. No one is just one type; we always have all three doshas within us. These vary in their presence throughout the year. Generally speaking, Kapha dosha is dominant in late winter/spring. Pitta dosha is most pronounced in summer, and Vata dosha predominates in autumn/early winter. To balance the more pronounced dosha, Ayurveda recommends a balancing tea for each season: Kapha tea: for Pitta or Vata types in late winter/spring; Pitta tea: for Vata or Kapha types in summer; Vata tea: for Kapha or Pitta types in autumn/early winter.

How do I prepare Vata tea?

Place one teaspoon (approx. 5 g) of the mixture into a tea strainer that you can hang in your cup. Then pour 200 ml of boiling water over it and let the tea steep for 10 minutes. Then remove the tea strainer and let the tea cool until lukewarm – and you're done!

How many infusions of Vata tea are sufficient?

One bag of Vata tea (75 g) is enough for about 15 infusions.

Is the Vata tea organic?

Yes, all ingredients are organic and the tea is certified organic.

Where is Ayurvedic tea produced?

Our Ayurvedic tea is produced and packaged in Germany. All products are subject to strict quality controls.

Is the packaging sustainable?

Of course! Natural medicine and sustainability go hand in hand. We ship our goods in sustainable boxes made of grass paper. Grass has a significantly better environmental footprint than conventional virgin fiber pulp:

- Rapidly renewable raw material
- Significantly less water and energy consumption
- Significantly lower CO2 emissions
- Conservation of wood resources
- No use of land from the feed industry

How long does shipping take?

The order will be processed as quickly as possible and forwarded to the shipping service provider (DHL in Germany). Shipping typically takes 2 to 5 business days. Once the order has been handed over to the shipping service provider, we have no influence over the delivery process.
